Faces of LUCRF
John Lenders MP
John Lenders is currently the Opposition Spokesperson for Agriculture and Food, Security, Water, Resources and Federal State Relations, and the Labor Leader in Legislative Council.
John’s commitment to public service stems from his passion for making the world a better place, highlighting that putting your energy into politics is just one way through which this can be achieved. His advice for those looking to enter politics, “make sure you can articulate what you want to achieve and why, and be able to take people with you”.
His parents survived the Great Depression and World War II, instilling in John from a very young age the importance of making a difference in people’s lives. Continuing in this cause, John was delighted at the opportunity to officially launch the LUCRF Community Partnership Trust on the 8th of November 2010. As a Minister he sees this initiative as a positive sign of the progression and leadership that LUCRF Super is displaying as a good corporate citizen.
On a personal note, John is happily married and the proud father of three adult children. Leading an active lifestyle, he is a keen swimmer, cyclist and bushwalker, naming Mt Buffalo and Wilsons Promontory (Victoria) amongst his favourite holiday destinations.
John Lenders MP has been a member of LUCRF Super since 1989.
