Faces of LUCRF

Richard Gaze

Richard was born the middle child of three, and enjoyed a happy childhood in the UK. Coming from a close knit family, Richard names his Dad as one of his greatest influences; an honest and fair man, always wanting to do the best for his children.

In his younger years, Richard considered pursuing a career as a Lawyer, but started in marketing research which sparked a passion for improving customer service, and he’s never looked back!

We recently caught up with Richard – see the interview below.

Tell us about your career highlights?

I really enjoyed my time working in London. I experienced great career progression and the opportunity to work with market research and financial services specialists which really enhanced my knowledge and skills.

I’m now working in Melbourne for Customer Service Benchmarking Australia which has enabled me to pursue my passion in improving customer service, as well as extending into training – completing the circle.

What achievements are you most proud of?

Work wise, I’d say staying in the one area for the majority of my career, which has enabled me to develop and build my knowledge allowing me to offer a very wide variety of services to clients that improve customer service.

Of course marrying an Aussie would have to be my other great achievement!

Favourite childhood memory?

We used to live on a farm in the early years, and a favourite childhood memory of mine would be the idyllic setting of the river running through the back of our garden, surrounded by open fields.

Who would you invite to a dinner party, dead or alive, and why?

Geoffrey Rush. He was great in Shine, and I reckon he would be very entertaining.

How did you become a member of LUCRF Super?

LUCRF Super is the super fund for the market research industry amongst others. I heard about it when I first started working in market research.

What keeps you connected to the Fund?

They have a good performance record and as an industry fund they’re all about low fees as they’re run purely to benefit members.
