Super calculators
While online calculators are very handy, remember that at best they can only illustrate the possible effects of decisions you make. They allow you to try out ‘what ifs’ but when you are using them, keep in mind that they are not predictions of what will happen in the future. Don’t make decisions based solely on the outcome of a calculator and always consider getting expert, licensed financial advice when making superannuation or retirement plans.
Links to the following calculators has been provided for your convenience. Any questions related to their use, the assumptions behind their calculations or other issues should be addressed to the organisation that created it.
Superannuation planning calculator
Have you ever considered the impact that your decisions have on your super? The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the consumer protection regulator for financial services, has developed a super calculator that models the long term impact of:
- fees and insurance premiums
- making extra contributions
- receiving Government Co-contributions
- a break in contributions caused by leaving the workforce
- changing funds
- switching your investment strategy

Superannuation co-contribution calculator
The Tax Office’s Co-contribution calculator can be used to work if you are eligible to receive a Government Co-contribution and how much the Government will contribute if you are.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) allocated pension calculator shows the effect on your account and income of choices you may be able to make about fees and switching your investment strategy.
