Finding lost super
If you have changed your job, address or name in the last 10 years, and did not advise your super fund/s you could have ‘lost’ or ‘unclaimed’ superannuation.
This lost or unclaimed super may be held in your previous super fund or may have been transferred to an Eligible Rollover Fund (ERF) such as Australia’s Unclaimed Super Fund (AUSfund).
Who is AUSfund?
AUSfund is an Eligible Rollover Fund (ERF) and a complying, regulated superannuation fund. An ERF is a superannuation fund that looks after 'lost' super benefits and is eligible to receive super benefits automatically rolled over from other superannuation funds.
Like many other super funds, LUCRF Super may transfer your benefit to AUSfund if your account balance is less than $500 and if contributions have not been received for more than 12 months.
When a superannuation fund loses contact with you, such as where mail issued to you is returned, you may be classed by the fund as a ‘lost member’. Superannuation funds are required by law to provide a list of lost members to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on a regular basis. The ATO maintains a central Lost Member Register, but the actual super benefit remains in the fund and is not held by the ATO.
How do I find my lost super?
Searching for your lost super is easy.
AUSfund is LUCRF Super’s nominated ERF and works to locate lost members and reunite them with their lost super. Search for any lost super you may have by using AUSfund’s Super Search or call AUSfund on 1300 361 798.
Alternatively, you can search the ATO’s SuperSeeker website. SuperSeeker is also a free service that will look for your lost superannuation on the ATO's Lost Member Register.
There are three ways you can search for your lost super through the ATO’s SuperSeeker:
- Call the ATO’s SuperSeeker self-help phone service on 13 28 65 and follow the prompts. This phone service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (you will need your tax file number (TFN) to obtain information), or
- Visit the ATO’s online SuperSeeker website. You will need your TFN to conduct the search, or
- Download and complete a Lost members register enquiry form and post it to:

Searching for lost super through AUSfund or SuperSeeker is free of charge.
Consolidating your super
Once you have found any lost super, you can arrange to have it transferred or rolled over into your current super account.
Transferring or consolidating any lost super into your current LUCRF Super account will make it easier to keep track of and may potentially save you from paying multiple sets of fees.
In three easy steps you can consolidate your lost super accounts into LUCRF Super:
- Download a Transfer Between Funds Form from Related content.
- Complete and sign the form and post to LUCRF Super PO Box 211 North Melbourne VIC. 3051 (please include a certified copy of identification and if possible a copy of your most recent statement from your old fund)
- Once we receive your completed Transfer Between Funds Form we will post it to your old super fund, arrange the transfer and notify you once the rollover has been deposited in your LUCRF Super account.
